Have you ever wished you could remove fat from your waist and add it to your rear? That is exactly what can be achieved with a Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL. This is one of the most popular plastic surgeries because it achieves two goals at once – slimming a fatter area while creating rounded, lifted buttocks. Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio is recognized as one of the best BBL specialists in the world, creating gorgeous results for patients of all ethnicities at Back Bay Plastic Surgery in Boston, MA.
Dr. Del Vecchio has earned his reputation as a world-renowned BBL expert and fat transfer specialist. He has spent over three decades perfecting advanced fat transferring techniques to create beautiful results for his patients. He is a pioneer of EVL, or expansion vibration lipo filling method, to transfer larger amounts of fat effectively in the BBL procedure. He has written countless papers on the topic and lectured on six continents about using cutting-edge techniques for safe and beautiful fat transfer surgery.
Ideal Candidates for BBL
The Brazilian Butt Lift can create stunning results for a rounder, sexy rear, but it is not for everyone. The ideal candidate for a BBL is an individual who is height-weight proportionate, but with enough excess fat to be transferred to the buttock region. Some people who are thin may not have enough fat in one area to liposuction, but they may qualify for our Skinny BBL procedure.
Other considerations are the skin laxity and overall shape of the patient. Dr. Del Vecchio will perform an exam to ensure patients are good candidates for a BBL. If the skin or tissue on the buttocks is sagging, the patient may be a better candidate for a conventional butt lift to remove excess skin. A fat transfer may be used once the surgical lift is complete to add the desired volume.
Ethnic BBL Options
Not all body shapes are the same, and the BBL should match your shape and ethnicity. Dr. Del Vecchio has worked with patients from all ethnicities and understands that each BBL is unique to the individual. A BBL for an Asian woman will be very different than the BBL for an African woman, and the same is true for Hispanics, Caucasians and other ethnicities and genders.
Dr. Del Vecchio has performed plastic surgery and BBLs on patients from all over the world. Every procedure is personalized to the patient’s body type, ethnicity and personal preferences to create the best results possible. You can trust his expertise to create a stunning butt while slimming other areas with his advanced lipo and fat transfer techniques.
What to Expect with BBL
The BBL procedure is performed under general anesthesia and usually requires 2-3 hours to complete. There are two procedures to perform – the liposuction and the fat transfer. Our surgical team uses cutting-edge fat purification methods to reduce any risk of complications before the fat is transferred to the buttocks. Dr. Del Vecchio coined this technique, “Safe Subcutaneous Buttock Augmentation,” (SSBA), otherwise known as SAFEBBL™. Dr. Del Vecchio uses his artistry and skills to safely create the desired shape and projection for each patient.
After the BBL surgery, you will have recovery time for both the liposuction and fat transfer procedure. There will be some swelling, tenderness and bruising in the surgery areas and the buttocks will need to heal for at least two weeks before putting weight on them. While some results will be immediate, the final results take about 4-6 weeks to achieve.
If you want a rounded, sexy rear while slimming your arms, thighs or abdomen, the Brazilian Butt Lift may be perfect for you.
